Our client, a global manufacturing company, is looking for a Communications Manager to join their team in Durban. This role will include a combination of responsibilities related to managing public relations, communications strategies, & government relations for the company. Key Responsibilities: Public Relations Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and communications strategies to enhance the company's public image. Manage media relations, including cultivating relationships with journalists and media outlets. Internal and External Communications: Oversee internal communications to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with the company's goals. Develops and coordinates the delivery of the annual internal communication plan Government and Regulatory Affairs: Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the company Develop advocacy strategies and engage with government officials and regulatory bodies. Crisis Management: Serve as a spokesperson during crises or sensitive issues, ensuring timely and effective communication. Event Management: Plan and execute events, conferences and other public engagements. Budget and Resource Management: Manage budgets related to communications and public affairs activities. Supervise staff or external consultants involved in communications and public relations. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Media & Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related Relevant post graduate qualification would be advantageous Valid SA driver's license 8 years' relevant experience within a similar role
