A vacancy exists at Aberdare Pietermaritzburg site, for an Electronics Technician , reporting to the Engineering Manager. Carry out any electronic planned maintenance work within time limits provided. Provide the services necessary on any electronic breakdown . Ensure that there are sufficient electronic spares available. Analyse and interpret test data, adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit or machines performance. Work with Electrical Engineers in the design of new electrical, electronic equipment plan, direct and work on projects. Read diagrams, electronic schematics, blueprints, diagnostic information and technical manuals for installing or repair of electronic equipment or machines. Evaluate performance of equipment versus recommended purchase specs Electronic components being resistors, diodes, capacitors, and transistors, field affect transistors, thyristors, IGBT's, MOV's, integrated circuits and microprocessors. Test and diagnose malfunctioning electronic parts or circuits, machines, apparatus and components, using test equipment such as meters, signal generators, power supplies, waveform scope and spectrum analysers, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Have experience in AC and DC drives with respect to selection and programing Have experience with SCADA packages with respect to programing and diagnostics Have experience with the programing and integration of HMI's and PLC's Have experience with the selection of and programing of PLC's Matric Certificate Trade Tested Electrician National Diploma Electrical Engineering will be advantageous Proficiency in Microsoft Suite 10 to 15 years' experience in a medium to heavy engineering industry
