Our client, Bonsma Enterprises, a mega-farming concern focusing on beef and grain farming, is seeking to employ a Financial Manager. As the Financial Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for their organisation. You will be responsible for the preparation and dissemination of financial statements, regulatory filings, and other financial reports including industry specific audit requirements. You will also take a hands-on approach in the management of the debtors and creditors function ensuring accurate reporting and timely collections and payments. This position is a half-day position (5 hours per day) and is based at Bonsma's head office, which is just outside Stellenbosch, towards Somerset West, on a beautiful historic property which provides an excellent work environment. The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant or CA(SA) (having completed either SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles) and desires to work half day. Responsibilities 1. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or relevant accounting standards. 2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the company meets regulatory requirements, including but not limited to SARS, banking and industry specific reporting (i.e. EMP201, VAT, tax, banking compliance) 3. External Reporting: Manage the preparation and distribution of external financial reports, such as quarterly and annual reports, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines and disclosure requirements. 4. Financial Reporting: Compile financial reports to provide timely and insightful information to key stakeholders, including senior management, board of directors, and other internal departments. 5. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to interpret trends, identify variances, and provide insights into the organisation's financial performance, supporting decision-making and strategic planning initiatives. 6. Audit Coordination: Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, coordinating audit activities and providing necessary documentation and support to facilitate the audit process. 7. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial results, analyses, and insights effectively to senior management. 8. Debtors and Creditors Management: Oversee debtors and creditors function. Drive the timely collection of funds with the relevant stakeholders and payment to creditors. 9. Budget and Cost Management: Prepare annual budgets. Conduct monthly analysis of actuals to budget. Provide insights and recommendations regarding variances of actuals to budget. 10. Risk Management: Design and implement both policies and procedures to mitigate and manage business risks. 11. Payroll Management: Administer monthly payroll, including submissions of monthly EMP201s and bi-annual EMP501s. 12. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial reporting processes and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance while leveraging technology and automating solutions where applicable. 1. Qualification BCom or BAccounting degree Professional Accountant or CA(SA) - SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles completed 2. Experience At least 5 years' experience as a Financial Manager. Skills: Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting practices, and relevant regulations. Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying financial information. Ability to think strategically and provide insights into the long-term company strategy, especially from a financial perspective. Apply Now
