Reference: JHB000481-AT-1 Well established packaging company based in Cape Town, Western Cape is looking for a Compression Process Technician to join their team. Requirements: Minimum N6 technical qualification. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a plastic production environment Minimum 5 years' experience in faultfinding and process control. Strong Communications skills Ability to work in a team. Self disciplined and motivated Proactive and enthusiastic Own transport and driver's license essential. Overtime and standby will be required from time to time. A strong understanding of material for processing systems Excellent attention to detail Able to identify and resolve issues with the equipment they service (outstanding problem-solving skills) Responsibilities: Assisting the production department in achieving optimum efficiencies through timeously and efficiently attending to the Processing requirements of their machinery and auxiliary equipment during production Liaison with suppliers to ensure new machinery to be installed is done timeously. Installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting of all process related tooling required to perform effective production Performing analyses to by use of technology provided on trending of machine performance and quality systems Monitoring equipment performance by use of onboard technology and adjusting as needed to maintain optimal performance levels. Assisting with troubleshooting / problem solving in the department as and when required. Staying abreast of processing technology, advising and where cost effective, assisting with the implementation of technical and processing developments and improvements. To be on standby as and when required. Practicing good departmental and interdepartmental relations. Practicing good Housekeeping and Safety. Assisting maintenance team with installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial equipment related to machinery and plant. Testing and calibrating equipment to ensure that it is operating correctly. Conducting research to develop new technologies or improve existing equipment. Experience in the injection and compression moulding fields will be an advantage. Good working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems An understanding of PLC; AC/DC Drives and electronics Training of production staff in the effective usage of the equipment to ensure a broad base of understanding of the equipment An understanding of Polymers used in the processing of HDPE products Communicate with and manage suppliers and contractors. Experience in managing projects. Managing spares levels for all process related machinery
